Garden Party

Melanie took in the scene before her. The ladies in their fancy dresses, the gentlemen done up in nearly as much lace as the ladies.
Her own gown was simple. Her father, though very wealthy, had never believed in such frippery. She stood out like a single flower among a sea of bouquets.
